Overview
DragonFly contributed aerial cinematography for Dreaming of Life, documenting refugee crossings across the Aegean Sea between Turkey and Greece. Filming took place from a small fishing vessel, capturing the arrival of boats carrying refugees and migrants during one of the most significant humanitarian crises of recent years.
Challenge
The main challenge of the project was operating a drone from a small fishing vessel in an unpredictable sea environment, while filming a highly sensitive real-world situation as it unfolded. The work required stable aerial control, careful timing and a strong awareness of both safety and subject matter, with no room for staged repetition or controlled conditions.
